how do I put a calendar shortcut on desktop?

T

TINY

I want to put a shortcut to the calendar on my desktop. I was able to do it
with the Student Edition. I upgraded to 2003 Pro and can't figure it out.
Help please

Versions do not matter - it is the same process.

I'm not so sure. I once could simply right click and drag a folder to the
desktop and create a shortcut. Somewhere between Office 2003 and XP SP2
upgrades, this functionality was lost. It tries to create a URL
(outlook://...) type link, which outlook balks. Seems like it used to create
..rnk files?

To recreate the shortcut buttons from the old Office Toolbar:

Find the path to Outlook.exe and then append the following, ensuring that
you have a space before the /c:

Create an e-mail message /c ipm.note
Create a post /c ipm.post
Create an appointment /c ipm.appointment
Create a task /c ipm.task
Create a contact /c ipm.contact
Create a journal entry /c ipm.activity
Create a note /c ipm.stickynote

Unless I'm missing something, your instructions are for shortcuts to standard
forms. We want a shortcut to a folder in Outlook. I created them by dragging
the folder from Outlook to the desktop. Then when I clicked on the shortcut,
Outlook opened to my calendar (or task list, etc.) This doesn't appear to
work anymore.
