How do I re-create the table of contents in a discussion group

J

Juan Espada

There are occasions when the messages posted in a discussion group exist in
its allocated folder (Discuss) but the table of contents file (tocproto.htm)
no longer contains the links to the message (Discussion) files. For example,
tocproto.htm might contain 2 entries while there are actually hundreds of
message files (000001.htm, etc.) in the correct folder. How do I re-create
the table of contents file so that it contains all the message files are are
still in its associated folder?

There are also times when I post a message, the message is created in the
associated folder but no entry is made in the table of contents.
Consequently, I cannot see any new messages that are being posted althou the
message are on the server and there's plenty of disk space available.

You can't re-create the toc, you would have to create a new discussion web, which should be in a
subweb, so that when you publish it is not overwritten.
