How do I re-install Internet Explorer 6?

I first had IE5, which is still installed, I think. I understood that the
Microsoft updates would overwrite newer appropriate files. I keep getting
"reinstall ie6setup." It won't finish; always kicks off. I am attempting to
install drivers for a printer in a different location. Any help would be
great!
