How do I read my archived (saved to desktop) Outlook '03 emails?

I archived my Outlook email messages from May 1st back, but saved that
archive sent to my desktop. (I thought I was being clever and would be able
to place that archive onto my JumpDrive). Now, I am unable to open this
archive. When I double click it within Outlook I get a message that reads
"Cannot open this item. Outlook has blocked access to this potentially unsafe
item." If I try to open it form my desktop it send me to a list or programs
to open the file with (none of which are Outlook).

PLEASE HELP!!!!!
I need to have access to these emails for my work...how do I recover and
read this archive?

I assume this is a PST file.
Use File | Open from within Outlook.
