Hello!

I have two Outlook profiles, working just fine.
recently i have just realized that my archive folders desapeared from the Navigation Pane, i made it reapear in the navigation pane but all my Archived mail are gone, all the archived folders are empty.

I tried to locate the pst files for the archives which is normaly located in the C:\Documents and Settings\user account\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. The one i found is a new one and does not contain my old files, its just 98KB.

How do i go about in finding the old pst for my archives and restoring my Archive folders and file?

Please help its information of more than 4 years..

Search to include hidden for *.pst it maybe that the archive was located
elsewhere

Whilst you can remove the none default data file from within outlook,
removeing doesnt delete the file.
To delete the file you must have explictly done so within explorer.

Or recover from your data backups

Actually, that's NOT the normal location. PSTs are located by default in
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook. They can, however, be located in any folder on your
hard drive where you have read/write permission.

Thanks for your timely response.

I have searched all the location suggested in the reply, but no avail
i guess i just have to see if i have any copy in the backp drives.

By the way, how do i get the outlook Archive Folder to be displayed in the All Maill Folders Pane?

Secondly i have just made a backup of all the mails from one account and i want to export it to a diferent outlook account, but i want it to appear under the archives folders, how do i go about in doing this?

If you mean the current Archive PST, then click
Tools>Options>Other>AutoArchive and check the box labeled "Show archive folder
in folder list". if you mean a prior archive PST, then when you open it with
File>Open>Outlook Data File, it will automatically show.

This doesn't make sense because you don't back up "accounts". You back up
data files (PSTs). Moreover you never use export/import to move data between
Outlook instances. You simply open the data file containing the data from one
Outlook in the other Outlook. Then, if it's not in the folder set you want it
in, you move or copy the data to the folders where it should be.
