How do I recreate a previous calculation?

I have a series of 20 or so numbers from which I had
previously calculated (added) two subtotals. I'm now
trying to recreate those numbers but don't remember which
numbers went into which subtotals. Is there a function in
excel where I can highlight all the numbers, specify the
subtotal and have Excel recreate it?
