How do I remove a name from "automatic names" in the send or cc f.

select it with the arrow keys and press "delete"

Use your arrow key to scroll to that name in the list that pops up. Hit the
delete button.

Type the few characters. Do not touch the mouse once you start typing.
Use the arrow keys to arrow down so it's highlighted.
Hit delete.
