how do i remove an embed object?

I was testing out the office program and some how i ended up with an embed
object that comes up every time I open word. I am not sure if I did this in
word or in front page...HELP!! office XP

thanks for the reply..guess I am just not getting it....when i open word the
screen flashes and moves then the object is there... i even ended up sending
it to my husband by mistake...he can;t remove it either...any other ideas?

If you rename Normal.dot, does the object remain?
