How do I remove "FAX email types" for the address book?

We are a small business office with a single contact database used by the few
folks in our office. Our contacts include email addresses and fax numbers.
The address book then shows SMTP email types as well as FAX email types. We
do not use the FAX capability and all of that non-usable data is cluttering
up our email address book. Is there a may to filter out the FAX email types
so they do not show? Or is there a way to enter them in our "Contacts" so
that they will not show in the address book. They really are annoying.
Thanks for any help anyone might have.
