How do I remove format protection from all shapes at once?

After importing an Excel file via Project Schedule>Gantt chart>Import, all
the bars have format protection. I'm having to remove protection one bar at
a time before changing the fill color. Is there a right way to multi-select
on the Gantt chart? Selecting the entire chart doesn't appear to select all
the bars. Is there a default setting I can change?
