How do I remove IRM?

Pamela M

When I get an IRM message from the print preview icon, it directs me to a
download which no longer exists! When I view the status in the Shared
Workspace, there is no info! This thing is getting in my way!!!!
I cannot preview anything now!

Did you receive this document from someone using IRM? If so then you
would need to contact them in order to modify your permissions to the
document.

This is what I have learned since my submission.
1. I had installed MSOffice2003 Pro durring a Computer Applications course
and did not realize the changes in the icon bar. The position for print
preview was replaced with the IRM permission icon. I have removed the incon
and moved the print preview back to its customery place.

This does not alieve the IRM situation, of which I am told I need a
download, but the access no longer exists.

Is this something that may get in my way in the future, when I know I will
be working collaberatively on writing assignments?

Hi Pamela,

Are you planning on using IRM?

This feature is more for those who have a Windows Rights Management
Services Server. Microsoft did host a trial server for this service so
if you are unable to find a download then it could be the trial period
is over. Since I previously installed the service during the trial
period I'm unable to verify whether the service has been removed.

For more in IRM take a look at this article:
