How do I remove languages?

I have read 2 posts, no longer active, about removing the proofing tools. What they both basically said was that it is not recommended. Also, "they don't take up that much room so why would you want to".
My issue might explain why I want to do this. We are running Office 2004 in a computer lab of about 20-25 machines. Students come in for class and open Word, it then takes anywhere from 5-15 min for them all to load. This is NOT the first time that it is being run on that machine as that user. The installing stuff locally is something that my computer teachers work through at the beginning of the year.
What I noticed, however, is that when opening, Word is loading all these different language "plugins?" and that seems to be taking a longer amount of time than is necessary.
I obviously don't want to break anything, but if removing the proofing tools will help with the loading speed, I think it is something that I need to do.

Some more info. User accounts are on the server, so that might be a small part, however, the computers are gigabit ethernet, going to a gig switch, fiber run, gig switch, server. So there shouldn't be much of an issue there. Also, I ahve personally seen this work with other programs in the lab and it seems to only be the Microsoft Office programs that are taking so long.

Any input/comments/etc. are appreciated.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks

The one big thing that slows down launching Word is font cache.
Utilities that enable or disable fonts on the fly mess-up Word (and most
of the rest of Office) and force it to rebuild the entire font cache
every time you boot the applications.
I haven't noticed any slowdown with spelling and grammar language
support.
You can uninstall them manually though. In the Office 2008 folder, they
are in:
Office>Shared Applications>Proofing tools.

Yes, I totally know that. That is what I was referring to when I said:

I don't see it saying that it is loading the fonts and such, and where I see it "hanging up" is when it is loading different language libraries.

Thank you for the response and the file path.

I don't see it saying that it is loading the fonts and such,

It could be applciations like Suitcase for instance.
Even enbling and disabling fonts through Fontbook (though it's less
common because you have to do it manually - it won;t happen unless you
actively change something, not like suitcase which does it
automatically)
and where I
see it "hanging up" is when it is loading different language libraries.

They might be corrupted... Weird though,
