My friend, you are probably in deep doodoo.
First make sure that what you see are frames and not text boxes. They
behave quite differently. Right-click the edge of one and look at the
context menu: does it say "Format Frame" or "Format Text Box"? The
following suggestions are based on them being frames -- if they're
text boxes, post back for more instructions.
Make a *copy* of the document (DO NOT work on the one-and-only
original, just in case).
Select the text and press Ctrl+Q. This removes all manually applied
paragraph formatting and returns it to the base style. If the base
style doesn't include the frames, the frames will be removed.
In the unlikely event that the style does include a frame, you can
modify the style to remove the frame. Again, if you need instructions,
post back.
There may now be two problems: First, the words may now be out of
order. That's because they drop into the regular text in the order in
which they were "anchored", which may not be the same as the order in
which the frames were positioned. Second, you might also lose other
paragraph formatting (indents, spacing, etc.) that will have to be
reapplied.
