how do i remove the typewriter sound from a power point slide

i am modifying a power poin presentation and i am consistantly being
interrupted by a "typewriter sound" when the slide comes up interrupting the
music preselected. The "typewriter sound was not selected nor appears to be
selected for that particular slide, all the other slides are working properly.

I would check two places:
First, check and see if there is a sound attached to the transition for the
slide. (Slide Show--> Transition (2003 and earlier) or Animations-->
Transition (2007) - check to see if the transition for the slides has a
sound attached.)
Second, check to see if there is a sound attached to the first animation on
the slide. (Same places, but Custom animation instead of Transition, then
look at the effects for each animation.)

Hi Dave

If it doesn't appear on the slide anywhere it is probably part of the slide
transition. In XP or 2003 open the slide transition task pane (Slide
Show->Slide Transition) and change sound to no sound. There is an 'Apply to
all slides' button but BEWARE this will change all settings (ie type of
transition, advance with mouse click or not and timings). A quick way to see
if slide transition timings are set is in slide sorter view.

Hope that helps - post back if you have any more questions.

Dear Lucy:
Thank you so much for your sugestion, but i am sorry to say that the
trasition panel indicate "no transition" and the "sound indicator" indicates
"no sound", for that particular slide, i run on windows XP and use Power
Point 2003. I also notice when i click on the slide and it opens to be
modified, the fading effect or vertical slide for the lettering works but
does not highlite under the transition list.....Does that help any?

always greatfull for your help

Dave

Kathy:

Thank you very much for responding.
I verified under Transition.... No transition and sound = No sound
I also went to "custom Transition" it' compleatly grey nothing there.
I really dont know what else to do...... :(
The first slide does have music and all the others, but when slide 16 comes
up the "typewriter sound " interrups the presentations music.

Best regards

Call the police. I believe that most countries have laws against using the
typewriter sound in presentations. Whoever created this presentation
originally must be stopped.
