how do I remove underline default mode from outlook e-mails?

My IT department can't help with this. Any e-mail I send has all text
underlined even if I remove the underlining before I send. Anyone who
replies to me inherits the underlining. Somebody please tell me how to make
it stop it's driving me mad and it looks like I'm e-shouting at everyone I
mail.

I'm using Outlook 2003 professional service pack 2 - 11.6568.6568sp2

Are you using Word or Outlook as the email editor?
As a temporary workaround you can change your message format to Plain Text;
Tools-> Options-> tab Mail Format

Has anyone sent you a solution for this? I am have the same problem with Word
as email editor. Underlining only show when the mail message is delivered.
Word and Outlook 2003 all updates from Microsoft.

Hello Guys,
There is no need to delete any files.
The easiest way is:
1. Open a Word document
2. on the main menu, go to: Format>Font
3. On the underline style choose "none" option
4. Click "Default" button.
5. Close Word document (No need to save changes)
6. Open up the outlook, and enjoy your emails

We have all done this 15 or 20 times and nothiing has happened! The problem
is specifically that no matter how many times we do this, the default
underlining doesn't change. The only fix is to delete or repair the
normal.dot template file, which has been corrupted. If you can find it, you
delete it, and when you reboot, the program opens with the default normal.dot
template. PROBLEM: I don't know how tind the file. In windows XP it is
supposed to be here: C:\Documents and Settings\[your user id]\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates . Unfortunately I don't have a templates file in my
Microsoft subdir. Does this help to solve a really maddening problem.?

Enable viewing hidden files and folders and then search the entire drive for
..dot files.

If a Microsoft discussion administrator tells us to go to format and click
default, we are in real trouble. Furthermore at very least your IT department
may be assumed to know how to change the default font in MIcrossoft. People
call me for help with wordperfect and word. Why not see if anyone in your IT
dept. understands the function of thebasic template, the fact that apparently
the underlining problem occurs from a fairly common corruption, and if you
repair or erase it, the underlining an be turned off. I have it in Word and
Outlook. EEK!
