Hi Wampler,

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by comment tags. If I enter comments
on a page via Insert > Comment, the comments are named by my user name
abbreviation: "CR1", "CR2". And it doesn't seem to be connected with the
"Author" property under File > Properties.

Are we talking about the same thing, first of all?

Depends slightly on which version of Visio you have. Pre-Visio 2003
comments where a bit of text that would be displayed as the mouse
moved or hovered over a shape. If this is what you mean then select
the shape and menu Insert -> Edit Shape Screen Tip.
However, getting the computer name there instead is more
problematical.
Select the shape, menu Windows -> Show Shapesheet
scroll down to the Custom Properties section and find the name of the
property containing the computer name, it's probably Prop.NetworkName.
Now scroll down a bit further to the Miscellaneous section, in the
cell called "Comment" enter Prop.NetworkName

It sounds like you are talking about the comments entered under reviewers.
I don't think this feature was designed to work the way you are attempting
to use it. However you can change what is displayed for these comment
dialogs but the results may not be what you expect. Open the drawing
explorer then right click on the Visio drawing page icon. Select the
ShapeSheet if there are any comments the name and initials should be
present. You can change these but once again it would be better to use a
mouse over comment box for this type of information.
