How do I resolve incompatibility of Excel 2003 and Word 2007?

If I touch an embedded Excel 2003 document using a machine with Word 2007,
the graphs go wild off the side of the page or at best I lose the formatting
such as rounded corners on graphs. How do I resolve these issues?
