how do I restore normal keyboard speed

I held down shift key for8 seconds in Word and got popup box about filters.
Pressed wrong option. Now have to hold down keys in all applications for 2
seconds to get a response

Click on Start | Control Panel | Accessibility Options | Keyboard
| uncheck the "Use FilterKeys" box | OK.

FWIW, you may have looked up "filter" in Windows Help and Support, and
had the answer in under 10 seconds.
