How do I restore .pst files from backup after PC rebuild?

I had to rebuild my PC after some file corruptions made for unstable
operation.
All done ok and everything reinstalled including backed up data.
However reload of MS Office has recreated Outlook 2003 which works fine BUT
I can't figure out how to reload the (old) backed up data - previous e-mails,
contacts, tasks etc. Any clues anybody?

File > Open Outlook Data File...
Just open the file and copy what you want from it.
Or if you want to keep using the entire old file, set it to be the default,
then restart Outlook and close the new file.
