Generally, there is no way to recover a corrupt Visio document. However, if
you are having specific problems opening older Visio documents in newer
versions of Visio, there may be some options.

Im working with visio 2003 with some of my important files. when visio
suddenly stopped and when I reopened the file, it says "error (100)...file
may be corrupted" PLEASE HELP. it would be hard to re do all the work as I
did. Please, Can I send you the corrupted file and try to fix it for me? I
really really need help.

I know it's possibly too late for this file but you might like to try
this for all your other files.
Get and install a version control system of some sort, I use CS-RCS,
it's free for single user use. Any time you make changes to a file you
can check it in and you can retrieve any previous version.
And if all your work files are checked in then it's a very easy task
to do a backup.
My 2 cents.
