How do i retrieve messages in Windows Mail which have been compact

Windows Mail v.6.06.6000.16386 running on Vista has compacted messages, i am
no longer able to view these messages, how do i retrieve them ?

Post to the Vista Mail group, and not the Outlook group you have posted to,
a completely different program
