How do I retrieve missing journal entries?

My email stopped downloading from my online msn account, so I closed and
reconnect that account. While all of my emails, tasks, notes and calendar
remained intact, my journal entries had disappear. How can I retrieve my
journal entries? I looked in the recycling bin and in the outlook deleted
files and found nothing. I use Outlook 2003. Help!!!
