How do I run a flash file (swf) in powerpoint

I am trying to install a shockwave flash object into my powerpoint
presentation. As soon as I close down and reopen it just appears as a white
background with a black cross through it.

The file will play normally on my computer and only seems corrupted when I
have shut down and reopened my file.

Does anyone know of a solution (keep it simple for a thicky!!!!!
