How Do I Save A Copy Of My Web?????

M

Mike Brown

I am new to using Front Page. Everytime I try to make a
back-up copy of my web, it doesn't seem to make a copy of
all of the files. I have tried everything I can think
of. I like to make copies on a CD so I can work on the
site wherever I am while I am in development stage.

Help!??????

Best way is to open it in FP and Publish the web to another location
(an online server or another disc based web location)
If you "copy" the web to some backup media (CD) always include all hidden and system files at all subfolder levels
for creating a CD see http://www.microsoftfrontpage.com/content/ARTICLES/fp_to_cdrom.html
(to restore the copy from the CD copy all files to your hard disc and remove all read only attributes for all files/folders)

When you do publish your site using FP to your hard disk as a backup copy,
do you open your web live or can you just do it from FP and open it from
your hard drive and publish to where you want?

Thanks,
Ed.

Usually just opening you local copy (on disc) is enough to backup,
unless you are also trying to back up any dynamic elements from your online web
(like Discussion webs, Form results, etc)
