how do I save a message in outlook without saving the attachment t

how do I save a message in outlook without saving the attachment too? When I
delete the attachment I seem to delete the whole message.

Open the message, rightclick the attachment and choose Remove

Thanks for the reply. When I do that the remove option is not bold so I
cannot click on it.

Open the message first; it doesn't work in the Reading Pane.
