JoAnn's answer is partly correct, but that doesn't change the extension on
any other pages that you might be producing, and it is probably better that
you be consistent throughout the site. In addition *.* htm files and *.*html
files are generally interchangeable. Never the less if you prefer, then when
you Publish to the Web (assuming you are using Pub 2003), and get the Save
in dialogue, then change the extension under File name. Just click on the
chevron and choose index.html. I would also add that if you are actually
doing a Save As a web page, you should not be doing that. You will be saving
a non-filtered version of your HTML. Use Publish to the Web to create your
output.
