How do i save an assigned task in a shared folder track results?

I succeeded in created a shared task folder but when I try to save a task to
that folder and assign, I get the message that the task is not saved in my
task list so I will not receive updates. How do I correct this so I can
maintain a separate shared task folder from which to assign and track tasks?
