You need to spend a little time reading the Apple Help for your new
computer.

File>Save As... Works just the same in Mac as it does in Windows.

Click on your Desktop, make sure the word "Finder" appears at the top of the
screen. Then open the Apple Help an type a single word: "Finder" in the
search box.

If you read the top-ranked articles (the first 10 or so...) you will spend
maybe 20 minutes and after that you will feel so much more confident about
using your Mac :)

Along the way you will not only find the answer to this question, you will
have enough information so you will immediately understand it :)

Hope this helps

Hello & Welcome Wilbourn -

You shouldn't find the Save As process much different on your Mac. The
command is the same & located in the File menu just as on a Windows system.
The one thing that may be throwing you off is if the dialog is collapsed --
it gives the impression that you can't navigate to a different folder. If
that's what you're running into take a look at the right of the Save As:
[filename] box. There's a squarish button with a triangle on it. Click that
to expand the dialog Window & you should find what you're looking for.

Anticipating another "challenge" the Mac OS will not permit changing the
names of files listed in the Open & Save As dialogs, nor can you delete
files from there. File maintenance must be done in a Finder window.

This article may be helpful, although it hasn't been updated for 2008. It
will still provide some insights and don't hesitate to come back with any
additional questions -- most of us use Win Office as much as Mac :)

I'd also recommend that you spend some time with Mac Help in order to better
find your way around. The Apple site is another that offers discussions on
OS X & Macs in general. This is an article that may be useful:

It's quite easy you just go to save as, call the file what ever you want and
the then make sure you use the .doc file not the docx file and let it save
the document. Practice makes perfect, if else fails do a trial run, for
example open word, type fjfkfkfmkf or whatever you like and practice saving.
