A CD is Read-Only in most cases, so that is why you get that message. I
suggest saving from Windows, not from OneNote. My guess is that (like most
applications) OneNote doesn't have a clue how to write to your CD.

Can you clarify what you want to do?

You don't need to save anything during normal work in OneNote. OneNote
saves everything in the background automatically. You don't need to
"save" a piece of paper, right?

If you're looking for instructions on backing up your OneNote files, take
everything in "C:\Documents and Settings\{yourname}\My Documents\My
Notebook" and back it up using whatever method you use. You cannot
directly back up to CDR but you can drag that entire folder to the CDR
drive in My Computer and then insert a blank CDR.
