How do I save Ofc 2000 to open in Ofc 97?

Will a document created in Ofc 2000 (word or excel) open in Ofc 97? Do I use
a different command under "save as"?

"document"? Are you talking about Word? This is an Access (the database
application) newsgroup.

Generally, you would need to save a newer file down to the old version. How
would Office 97 know what features were going to be installed in Office
2000? Newer software can generally read old files, but old software cannot
be built to recognize formats that do not exist when the software is
written.

Go to TOOLS, then CONVERT DATABASE, then PRIOR DATABASE VERSION.
Just follow the prompts after this.

Oh nevermind, you're not asking about Access...
