How do I save Word clipart as a GIF or JPG file?

A

Alan

I have a small image from Word 2007 clip art that I need to save in a JPG or
GIF file so I can upload it to use as an image on my website. I have no text
with it. I'm not computer savvy, so how is a simple way to do this?
Thanks

There are a variety of ways. Here's one:

1. Save a file that contains just the clip art item as a .docx file.

2. Close the file in Word.

3. Using Windows Explorer, rename the file so that it has a .zip exension.

4. Open the .zip file, and explore down into the word\media folder. The
clipart will be there, probably as a .wmf file.

5. Double-click to open the .wmf file (it will probably open in Windows
Paint).

6. Choose File - Save As, and set the Type to jpg or gif.

If you need the file you saved in step 1, don't forget to change the .zip
back to .docx.
