how do i save worksheet as a jpeg file

Select the range on the worksheet and SHIFT + Edit>Copy Picture.

Open MS Paint or your favorite graphics program and paste the picture.

Save As Type..........jpg.

Thanks Gord that took care of main problem, but it only copied first 7 rows
of sheet not the 15 i had selected. how do i select the whole sheet to copy
as picture?

Are you selecting the entire rows or just a range of cells?

When you did the SHIFT Edit>Copy Picture which option(s) did you choose?

I tested a 10 column by 60 row matrix and had no problems with either "as shown
on screen" or "as shown when printed".

I don't think you can select the entire sheet.

If I try all I get is an error message that "too big, will be truncated"
