How do I schedule a resource for a week or month in duration?

I have conference rooms set up as resources. The conference rooms have been
setup to accept appointment automatically if there are no conflicts. However
I can't schedule a meeting w/this conference room for 30 days. I have to do
it smaller increments. If I select the event option, the conference room
does not automatically accept events like it does for appointments. Does
anyone know how to set meetings up w/resources for more than just several
days?
