How do I search for a custom tag in ON 2007?

Ed Faunce

I created a custom tag and marked a series of files, but cannot figure out
how to display the list of files that have been tagged.

If a tag has been applied to a note it will appear in that list.

Can you clarify what you mean, then? What do you mean by tagging a "series
of files"?

E

Ed Faunce

What I meant was that I placed the tag on the ON page, but I did not put the
tag inside a note box.

E

Ed Faunce

Yes, I selected the tag depicted by a key. I then went to a section which has
about 600 separate pages each page being a Calif. appellate decision. I then
tagged about 35 of the pages with my key tag and instructed ON to show me all
tagged files. I got about 5 different types of tags, but not one key tag
showed up.

Ed,
Can you give us more details on what you mean by you tagged the pages? Do
you mean you tagged the titles of the pages, or something else?

If you tagged the titles of the pages, it should be working. If you tagged
individual notes within the pages, that should work too. (Does here,
anyway.)

I placed the tag between the title of the page, i.e., the first box and the
beginning of the individual note. Maybe I should try tagging inside one of
those boxes?

I would try tagging one of the notes or the actual title of the page. I
don't know (haven't played with) what happens when you tag empty space in
ON2007, but I would guess that the result would be just what you are
seeing - nothing to be found as a note when generating the summary page, so
the page is ignored.
