how do i send a business contact?

We are trying to inegrate the BCM into our business. One problem we have
noticed is when sending a business contact to everyone, Outlook wants to save
it as a normal contact, not a business contact. Is there a way to send
business contacts and have them saved to the receiver's computer as a
business contact?

Mark,

I assume that when you are saying "send" a business contact, you mean via
email. In order for Outlook to email a BCM Business Contact record to anyone
it must first convert the BCM Business Contact record to a native Outlook
Contact Record first. The receiver will have to then drag the received
Outlook Contact record over to the BCM Business Contacts folder in order for
it to be written to a Business Contact Record. Because BCM is a db add-in to
the native Outlook application, Outlook records (PST) use an entirely
separate data from BCM (SQL db) data records. Outlook and BCM share and
operate within the same UI so this can be deptive. It would be nice if there
was an option to activate an auto re-write or auto synch tool that kept these
2 separate contact stores together so one would not have to do this manually.
Even better, it would be more convenient for a future version of Outlook to
not require an entirely separate db storage.

I know, I know, this is MS we are talking about and I am dreaming here!

Thanks for the update. I kind of had a feeling that was the case. But as we
all know, when it comes to Microsoft products, they do not reveal all the
secrets of how to use the software. I will let everyone know that you have to
save the received contact, then copy it into BCM contacts.

With BCM 2007 you can export a single contact to a bcm file, and the
receiver can import it.
