How do I send an access report with pictures to an email or efax?

I have a latge report with pictures. One limitation is the size of the file
as an attachment (too big). Another is the file format to export. Access
"snapshot" will not let me save in a jpeg type file for my pictures. Any
ideas?

I can "stumble" through things, but I'm no ace programmer.

I don't know what controls you're using for your jpg images
in your report, but there are no restrictions that I know of
that prevent the use of the Snapshot as a means of sending
your report as a Snapshot attachment to an e-mail, though
it too might be quite large.

I just tested a 13 page report that has 12 images per page.
The resulting snapshot was 73MB, clearly not too practical
for most situations.

I am not fully clear on what you are asking? Perhaps if you would clarify...

I also don't follow "snapshot will not let me save in a jpeg type file for
my pictures"? Do you want the recipient to be able to click pictures and
save them individually as JPEG?

Are you asking if there is any way that you can export a report as a JPEG
file? (AFAIK, the only way would be to manually, or, perhaps
programmatically, use PrtScr, save each page, and attach each page to an
e-mail).

Are you asking if there is any report format that can squeeze JPEG files to
a smaller size than they were when printed, but still retain the quality?
AFAIK, the answer is "No."

There are a number of free, or inexpensive, third-party packages to allow
printing as .PDF (Adobe-Acrobat compatible) files, and .PDF handles
pictures. I don't know if the file size will be acceptable for your needs.
(And, a final note, Microsoft has said that the next version of Office will
have a native capability to print to .PDF, but as that product isn't even
available in Beta form yet, that isn't likely to help you with your current
needs.)
