How do I set default opening files to be details alphabetical

My indexing has changed since installing Microsoft Search Desktop. Now when
I try to open a word document, it is never by "detail" and "alphabetical"
order. How do I set this as a default again?

Go to File, Open and select 'Detail' View (second tool from the right hand
end), then click on the Name column to sort in alphabetical order. Word
should remember this next time.

Unfortunately not. It used to remember it before installing this MSN
Desktop browser. It must be to do with the Search Desktop installation. My
colleague removed the desktop and it still won't put things back to normal.
So what happens if it doesn't remember it next time around?

I haven't installed MSN Desktop Search so it 'may' be the cause. Try the MSN
Newsgroup and see if they have any information on this.
