How do i set Fill color on Shapes imported in a text file or from

We want to generate diagrams from data in a database (currently Access, could
be SQLServer). I can create text files to generate shapes and links but
canot find documentation on how to set fill color in shapes through the text
file. Would ultimately like to generate directly from database and avoid
having to create text files.
