From the Tools menu in Outlook, selection Options and then go to the Other
tab and check the Make Outlook the default program for ...... item.

Hi Doug thanks for that, the default button is already selected on Outlook,
but somehow on the email merge outlook express still gets activated! Any
other ideas? Tim

Hi Doug - sorry you may get this twice.

I checked where you said on outlook and it is already set for default. The
problem i have is the outlook express is also set for default and won't allow
me to alter this setting. i think this was preset by a new isp i signed up
with a couple of months ago, but this is the first time i've hit this
problem. Can i just take outlook express off the system? If so do you have
any idea how?

Thanks

Tim
