i am having problems using the Data View for an Access 2003 database. i am
using Frontpage 2003 on a WSS (v.2) site.
I edit the connection string for the database, and i always get an error:
Server Error: an error occurred while retrieving the list of Databases from
t:\test\test1.mdb: The web server cannot connect to the specified data source
because the query may contain errors, the data source may be unavailable or
configured improperly, or your web site is behind a proxy server or firewall.
here is the connection string i am using:
Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=t:\test\test1.mdb;User
Id=admin;Password=;
i have tried various locations for the database, and have even set a share
on the database folder and allowed Everyone Full Control. it is still giving
me this error.
the server is not behind a proxy or firewall. and i am able to export the
..mdb to ASP and view it in a browser, so i don't think there is anything
wrong with the database either.
i am wondering if i need to set up a trust in Sharepoint so it trusts Access
databases? if so, how is this done?
here is where i got the idea from:
http://groups.google.com/group/micr...the+list+of+Databases&rnum=6#48f73a2ecfd4f9ce
can anyone help?
