Just curious to know what you are hoping for especially or what
restrictions are in place. Do you need to be segregated from the company
(assuming you're training within a company) network and mail server - in
which case you may need to set up a network from scratch... Talk to the
company sys admins about some options (email forwarding for instance) if
you need to be able to communicate with the outside world. You may be able
to use their own network infrastructure...

If you need to set up a network from scratch, maybe check into MS Small
Business Server. There's also a mail server called MDaemon (www.altn.com)
which may be substantially cheaper and will run from W2K Pro (may not need
DNS). For DNS... maybe use Bind if you're comfortable with Linux.

Well some semi-random thoughts I suppose. Can you define your requirements
a bit more?
Cheers
Mike
