How do I set up a simple data base with 4 fields?

I just want to make a simple data base which I can make an albetized list
etc. There is really to much info provided for me I don't know where to start

Just create a table in design view and define what each field will be. Not
sure that this is really a good application for Access. Sounds like
something you could do in Excel.
