How do I set up a subfolder within a template subfolder

Create a sub folder to the folder defined as the user templates folder in
tools > options > file locations. That folder's name will appear as a tab
when it contains a template. http://www.gmayor.com/Template_Locations.htm

Thank you for your response. However, what I want to be able to do is for
the subfolder to appear simply as a subfolder within a tab. For example, the
tab might be called Car templates, and within that tab I want three
subfolders, called "Ford", "Holden" and "Suzuki", for example

Word permits only one level of subfolders. Any template that is saved in the
root template folder appears on the General tab; each subfolder creates a
new tab. There cannot be any subfolders of the subfolders.

You might try separating the templates on a given tab by means of naming
conventions.
