How do I set up a MS Word document to show "user-interfacable"
expanding/collapsing outlines for reports? It should resemble the way that
classis style Windows Explorer can expand and collapse subdirectories.

You can use View=>Outline in Word and the Outline toolbar to
create and show/hide outline levels.
