I don't understand what it is you're doing that you'd need to add an
ActiveX control. There's no general reason in it for Word. Controls
are used for programming, unless I'm missing something here?
Can you provide more information? Is this within an Office program? Or
are you talking about an ActiveX control that needs to be installed
into your browser cos' you're trying to get something off the
Internet?
If you mean from your browser, this is a question for the Internet
Explorer group, not the Office group. But you should see a bar along
the top. A simple click will install the control. But USE CAUTION cos'
those can hack your system if you're not on a trusted site, which is
why they are initially blocked from auto installing.
If you mean something in one of the Microsoft Office
applications...which one? And what are you trying to do that would
call for a control? We'll need more specific information to try to
help you further!
