How do I set up landscape pagination?

I'm using Word 2007. I have a document with some portrait sections and some
landscaped sections. I'm trying to get all the page numbers to appear at the
same
place so that when you hold the document upright, the page numbers all
appear in the same place. That means that for the landscaped pages, the page
number needs to be at the bottom right, but the text needs to be "sideways."

I've tried inserting a text box, but it's not exact. And when I set up a
header, it keeps the header at the top of the page, even in landscaped
orientation. For the pages in landscape format, I need the header to be on
the right-hand side of the page, with the page numbers "sideways," so that
they match the orientation of the page numbers in portrait format.

Whoever's out there--I hope you know what I mean . . . and I hope you can
help me! Isn't there a way for Word 2007 to do this automatically?

thx!!!!!

Hi Julie, I have never been a great fan of text boxes but I imagine they may enable you to achieve this. Personally, i use tables for everything although this will be a bit of a muck around for you.

1. Switch off the 'Same as Previous' footer command before you start.
2. Insert a one column one row table (a cell, in effect) at the location you want the page number to appear and remove the boders of the 'cell'.
3. Copy and paste the page number from the previous section into the box you created.
4. Click in the box and then right click to open the onscreen flyout menu.
5. Click 'Text Direction' and choose your text orientation.
6. Adjust the position and size of the 'cell' (myabe using margin as well) to position to page number as required.
7. When you are satisifed with the location, copy and paste to other lanscape sections.

Sorry! It's a bit Mickey Mouse, but it may work for you.)
