How do I set up outlook with an existing email account?

I have bellsouth and am trying to set up Outlook. I am going to start
managing our soccer team and want to create a soccer contact list, I was told
this was the way to go. I have set everything up so far but do the emails I
get thru bellsouth go directly to outlook or do I have to check both for
emails
