How do I share a notebook that wasn't set up as a shared notebook?

Hello,

I see where the help file suggests making the Windows folder containing the
notebook files "Shared," but it also says this option is limited in that the
host computer must always be on to allow sharing of the Notebook.

What I'd really like to do is be able to share my alread-existing notebook
(that was not set up as a shared notebook) on SharePoint.

Anyone know if this can be done? Or do I just need to create a new (shared)
notebook and copy and paste all the pages of my old notebook into it?

Thanks!

Hey I actually just got done recording a video demo of how to do this (as
well as synchronization overview in general and using Hamachi to do it over
the internet) that will be posted on www.gottabemobile.com soon.

But the short answer is, all you need to do is share (via Windows file
sharing) the folder that contains the notebook, or any parent of that
folder. Basically, you need to be able to access the notebook from a UNC
path like \\MYTABLET\Users\Josh Einstein\Documents\OneNote Notebooks\Medical

As far as OneNote is concerned, there is absolutely no difference between a
notebook that is shared and one that is not. Creating a shared notebook
simply creates the Windows folder share for you. It's the act of *opening* a
notebook via a UNC (or removable drive) that triggers the magical
synchronization mechanism.
