how do i show screen tips for shapes?

I am new to Visio. My screen tips work on the tool bar, and I know how to
add the show or hide them and the shortcuts. However, the screen tip for the
shapes do not appear. Why?

Some shapes don't have screen tip text defined, for example, "work
surface" in the cubicles stencil does have a screen tip but the shapes
in the basic shapes stencil don't. Also, when creating a shape from
the drawing toolbar, these shapes also don't have a screen tip
defined.

You can create our own with Insert / Shape Screen Tip, and enure that Tools
/ Options / View / Other Screen Tips is checked.
