How do I slow down the scroll rate in MS Project 2003?

When trying to select multiple tasks with the mouse the project scrolls too
fast when the cursor reaches the edge of the task window. Is there a way to
slow down this scrolling?

This behavior is also noted in Excel. I do not think there is a solution.
As a work around I am very careful how far down the page I move the mouse.
For example, if I just "floor" the mouse by bringing it to the absolute
bottom of the screen the velocity is very high. If I move the mouse just
off the task rows and on to the horizontal scroll bar the velocity is not
quite as obnoxious. Let's write Microsoft a speeding ticket.

Thanks - At least I can stop looking for a solution. This has been a pain in
the neck for a long time.

Try a different method of selecting multiple tasks. Click and select the
first task of interest. Using the scroll "thumb" in the righthand
scrollbar, pull down until the last task of interest is visible on the
screen. While holding the "shift" key, click it. You'll find everything
between the two mouse cicks will get selected. Alternately, select the
first task of interest. While holding the shift key use the "page down" key
in conjunction with the cursor up and down arrow keys to extend the
selection to the last task of interest.

There is no answer to the question. I too am so frustrated when I scroll to copy and paste as it wizzes by at 100 mph! Is there something I can do to slow it down?

Hi Joe,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

No - O'm afraid it's always been like that :( I would recommend collapsing
the summaries and copy.pasting them - Project will copy all the tasks as
well.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
